Canada Give Argentina Scare
Canada gave Argentina a scare in the first half, creating several chances to take the lead. However, Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano MartÃnez was in fine form and made several crucial saves to keep the game level. Argentina eventually took the lead in the 35th minute when Messi converted a penalty after Canada defender Richie Laryea was adjudged to have fouled Nicolás Otamendi.
MartÃnez Seals Victory
Argentina doubled their lead in the 55th minute through MartÃnez. The Inter Milan striker fired home a low shot from outside the box after being set up by Messi. Canada continued to push for a goal but were unable to find a way past MartÃnez. Argentina held on for the win and will now face Uruguay in their next match on Friday.
