Jimmy Johnson, a Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back who played for the San Francisco 49ers, has passed away at the age of 86. Johnson, known as the "lonesome cornerback" due to his opponents' reluctance to throw in his direction, was a three-time All-Pro and a member of the All-Decade team of the 1970s.
Born on July 16, 1943, Johnson served as a head football coach on the collegiate level before being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994. He will be remembered as one of the finest 49ers of all time.
